Compression is when u save a computer file and then transfer the same file just using a smaller amount of bytes. We use compression because it saves a lot of room and space on your hard drive without damaging the file.

Lossy is when information is lost during the compression usually on JPEG files.

Lossless is when no information is lost during compression usually with GIF files.
